I believe many people have traveling dreams; the same is true with me. For many cyclists who like traveling around the world with their bikes, maybe cycling is and has always been a vital part of their lives. It is a great alternative to driving cars and that is why most cities in the developed and developing nations have cycling lanes on their roads. So cycling is also a great way to save our living environment.
In many countries, bicycles are just as important as any other means of transport. There are rules about cycling just as there are rules about driving. For instance you cannot cycle if you do not have the correct cycling equipment. Cycling equipment contains a lot more items that you must have before you are truly safe to get on the road and cycle. You need to have these items not just to protect yourself and other road users but also to stay out of trouble with the law. As it is said that recently Canada has made a law saying the riders must wear helmets while cycling.
In common situations, some of the items that one need before they begin cycling includes the bike of course, and cycle attire or clothes, helmets, bike shoes, sunglasses and many more. Each of these items performs a special function that can be instrumental in saving a life. For example the helmet protects the cyclist in the event of a fall. It can prevent major head injury especially if he or she lands headfast. And it is very dangerous if you don’t wear one.
Some of the functions of cycling equipments may seem minor and unimportant but if not used, the repercussions are felt over time. Items such as gloves protect the hands from friction that may be caused by holding on to the handle bars of the bike. If the cyclist does not use them, they may get friction blisters or bruise their palms if they happen to fall while cycling. Anything has its own reason to exists, so this is how the cycling equipments protect you.

As the rising awareness of saving the environment, people tend to choose bicycle instead of luxurious cars or heavy mileage bikes as their travel tools. Cycling has become a trend these days. However, beside the benefit of protecting the environment, cycling also has many other benefits. Let’s take a look.
Aids weight loss: It is widely known by people that cycling can help to lose weight. Biking can burn down calories and fat deposits from your body. If you cycle at a fast pace, you would not put on weight at all. So, you need not opt for crash diet if you are a biker.
Good for the heart: As the incidence of heart diseases is increasing year by year. Bicycling is also known as a cardiovascular exercise as it has great benefits for the heart. Cycling improves the flow of blood in your body, thus preventing the heart from developing a blockage. According to researchers, cycling for 30 minutes regularly decreases the chances of heart stroke by 50%.
Improves breathing: As you may not know, breathing hard is good for your body as this process can help to flush out toxins from the body and cleanse your system. Bicycling at a fast pace increases the rate of breathing and this is good for your heart.
Tones muscles: When you feel lethargic, just take your cycle out and go for a ride. You will not only feel fresh but, also boosts up your energy. This is because your body metabolism increases while biking. Tone and build your muscles by cycling. This is one of the health benefits of this vehicle.
As it has so many benefits, cycling is the new means of transportation for working professionals now. There are many who go cycling to stay fit. Whether it is for what purpose, it is apparently that cycling benefits you a lot and has no harm to you.

You must have said you want to travel and you are determined to go out and see another round of scenery more than once time. More than once, you cry, excited, happy and crazy, just because of your travelling ideas. Later on, I would like to invite you to go travel and you told me that you are just saying it. You see, I have no money and I have no experience, I don’t have this, and I don’t have that.
Later, I vaguely know, oh, you do not like to travel; you just like “travel”, the word. In your eyes, thinking of the scenery on the road is far more exciting than cycling on the road. In your opinion, you tell others that you will go here, whether you do or do not really go, just talking is another kind of enjoyment.
In fact, when traveling has become a trend, people were in a dim lost in the unknown on the road. People are trying to travel to grow, to bring happiness and to create a new self. But in many times, travel cannot bring anything, it is not a panacea. So you choose cycling, you are happy because you found a new way to travel. You also think that this will bring you something. But you are wrong again; cycling is far not as simple as you thought before. After riding for two or three hours, you may want to throw away your bicycle, and then take a bus or a car back home.
Then, you return to the beginning, back to your so-called warm house. There is no wind and rain there, no thunder, no sweat, no pain. You have returned to your previous life. You look at other people’s travel stories, and then uttered a sigh, I’m going to travel! I’m going to cycling!
You see, this is life. We have only done a so-called envy very often instead of do it. We prefer to talk about it because saying something does not require much effort. Then, you can see the messages of a large group of people are saying, “Yes! Me, too!”
Of course, this time, I would like to tell you, if you love to travel, if you like cycling, if you want to ride to travel, and then starting it! Nothing can stop you except your inner heart. You see, you don’t do some things now; you won’t have any chance to do them in your life!

Recent years, there are more and more children fell in love with the cycling sport. And what come next are the security issues. Concerning about the children riding safety is a social responsibility. The Road Safety Authority (RSA) is asking road users to watch out for children when using the roads, as there will be an increase in children playing, walking and cycling on the roads.
There was a piece of news said that more than 100 pre-schoolers were given fluorescent safety vests last week as part of an Alexandra District Parents’ Centre initiative. As well as donating high-visibility vests to all its pre-school members, the group also donated bike helmets to 10 of those children who turned 1 this year.
“Everyone in Alexandra likes biking, and we thought this would make them safer; and it’s something for the kids that their parents will appreciate, too,” centre co-president Lauren Cuthbertson said. “It’ll make them more visible, especially on footpaths or near driveways.”
The helmet initiative will continue for at least two more years, or as long as stocks last, with members who turn 1 receiving a free bike helmet. “As well as it being a good road-safety initiative, we’re hoping it’ll add an extra incentive for people to join parent centre,” Mrs Cuthbertson said.
The centre has 110 children from about 50 families as members. The road-safety initiative cost about $3500 and it was funded through fund-raising activities throughout the year, including the centre’s monster market in March.
Children will be legally obliged to wear helmets while cycling as part of a strategy being drawn up by safety authorities. Parents of children who break the law would be fined under the plan. So buying your child a helmet is a wise choice for every parent!

Probably you have thought about it, many sports require certain clothing to be worn including rugby, football and swimming and if the correct items of clothing aren’t worn, they will underperform. The same can be said for a cyclist. In order to remain comfortable and most importantly, safe on your rides, cycling clothing can go a long way.
Whether you cycle for leisure or consider you to have a strong passion for cycling, owning a quality set of cycling gear clothing and accessories will be extremely beneficial. It could actually improve your performance and make you want to cycle more often as you will be a lot more comfortable.
It is common knowledge that custom bike jerseys give much better performance than regular bike jerseys or general cycling clothes. Cyclists naturally expect to be able to ride faster and have increased endurance while using them. Wearing a cycling cloth can be beneficial a lot. Some of the benefits of choosing custom cycling uniforms over other cycling clothing include:
The material and cycling shirt design allow excess moisture to evaporate much faster, which prevents unsightly sweat patches and helps to prevent dehydration.
The cycling shorts and bib shorts are made to prevent bunching up and irritation whilst pedaling, as nothing can be worse than a rash in the wrong area.
Sleek fitting uniforms allow you to work your muscles in the right areas, instead of your energy being spent on the battle between your clothes and the wind.
Stretchable fabrics and quality material sources with mean that you won’t be wearing a garment which itches or feels tight, which is sadly the case with many cheap cycling shirts on the market.

Buying a bike is just like buying cycling clothes. It should adapt the needs of occasion, body situation and function. Whether you want to ride across the outskirts of the city or to speed in the track site, you first need to buy a bike that can make you “sport” enough as long as you want a cycling. A sports bike is a bike that can ride very fast, so it cannot be too heavy, and the accuracy of parts and durability cannot be bad. The transmission and lubrication of the bike parts must also be in a high level.
Frame size
The first thing of buying a sport bike is to make sure that if the size of the frame is suitable to the body of the rider. Frame size measurement is generally based on the length of the frame riser. In addition to the frame size must be suitable for the rider, the other two dimensions must be noted are the handlebar and handlebar. They must be suitable for the rider as well.Frame Materials
Frame is the soul of the bike. A good bicycle frame must comply with the three requirements of light weight, enough strength and high steel. As a bike for cycling, it is better to be lighter weight, so you can ride faster. Enough strength means that there are no security concerns like breaking or bending under high-intensity riding. High steel means the frame should be hard enough. Some standard materials of good frames include aluminum, carbon fiber, titanium and alloy steel.Type
Just like motor vehicles, bicycles are also having many different types according to different use. We should buy our bikes based on different road surfaces to meet riding needs of different riding environment and purpose. According to the types on the market currently, it can be broadly divided into: road bicycle, mountain bike and technical rider.Regardless of the type of the bikes, the cheaper the price is, the worse the performance will be. So please be selective when you are buying a bike and pay attention to all the aspects.

For many cyclists, their bikes are the things that they cherish most. So, keep the bike in the best condition become a project to many riders. This isn’t an exhaustive list of tools but they should get you by most maintenance and repair jobs.
Cleaning Oil
Get yourself some cleaning oil and soft cloths. You can buy cleaning products specifically for bikes or as I often use, just general purpose cleaning liquid, like washing up liquid. Make sure you check the liquid is safe to use on rubber, alloy and plastic though as you obviously want to avoid damaging the bike.Screwdrivers
You probably have a set of screwdrivers anyway but check you have a selection of both flat head and crosshead screwdrivers. I personally like to use a battery powered electric screwdriver but these are obviously an extra expense that many people may not want to use.Wire Cutters
You’ll also need a wire cutter for various jobs. Many pliers also have a wire cutter element to them, so if your pliers do then you will not need a separate set of wire cutters.Small Hammer
You’ll need a small hammer for various jobs where you need to hit something into its correct place.Plastic Tire Levers
I used to use a flat head screwdriver to peel off bike tires but not anymore. The risk of damaging the inner tube is too great. They make the job of taking the tire off a breeze and greatly reduce the risk of damaging the tube and rim.Set of Wrenches
Buy a full selection of wrenches as you’ll need them for a wide range of jobs. You can also buy an adjustable wrench but I’ve only had partial success using these. More often than not, it’s usually better to have separate wrenches of different sizes.Brush and Toothbrush
A brush is essential for cleaning various parts of the bicycle such as the chain and a toothbrush is perfect for those hard to reach places such as gears.
