London: Thousands of People Cycling to Promote the Olympic
No CommentsSports are more like a way of life for British people. Whether it is rain or shine, morning or night, young or old, you can always see people cycling and jogging on the road in London. For many British people, sports are an indispensable part of daily life. It has become a kind of their lifestyle, a healthy lifestyle.
In Beijing Olympics, the British delegation received a total of 19 golden medals, 8 of them were won in the cycling items. For British people, cycling is far more than just a way of transportation. It is a way of exercise, a kind of lifestyle.
During the interview, I happened to catch up with a cycling activity called “Love London, Big Cycling” held by London Bicycle Association. Bringing their families and their innovative and unique bicycles, thousands of ordinary citizens were cycling in the streets. On one hand, they are cycling for the publicity campaign for the London Olympics and on the other hand, they hope that London can improve bicycle cycling environment.
In fact, if you are walking in the streets of London, you can easily see many cyclists. A lot of them are very professional with cycling jerseys, helmets, water bottles and other equipments. Sometimes you can see some workers cycling wearing suits and helmets.
In London, people show themselves and their love to cycling through variety of ways. They also express their support to the London Olympics through various forms. We hope everyone can join the cycling team and to make our own contribution to the city environment and living environment.
